Poor Resolution

Setup:
-Windows 7 Home Premium
-No recovery disks
-AMD A8-MX3550
-750GB 7200RPM HDD
-8GB 1333MHz RAM
-1GB Radeon 7690M card
-Blu-Ray Player
-High Capacity 6 Cell
-Full-HD Anti-glare screen (Quite nice actually, better than my old screen)Graphics Card: I must say, it is a great computer. So far, it can play World of Warcraft, RuneScape, Portal, Battlefiled: Bad Company 2 (I haven't gotten 3 for PC yet) etc. on max settings with ease. I thank the dedicated 1GB VRAM and the GPU integration of the processing unit. AMD has this technology called CrossFire where if you have two or more AMD graphics units (in this case, the 7690M and 6600M/6700M APU), it combines them to work together and provide a better graphical support. So if you watch movies or play games, I highly recommend you add a dedicated GPU.Processing Unit: On the processing side, the APU does a great job in power partioning and resource management. When I needed a small graphics boost for a web page, the APU diverts some resources aside and doesn't let the computer stall, so this is plus that Intel is not too keen on. The APU also works well with the RAM in multi-threading tasks and doing many things at once. Haven't had my computer stall once, yet. Best part yet? This processor rarely ever heats up and most of the time it is a cool breeze of air coming from the exhaust vent.Hard Drive: The 7200RPM HDD is something you should consider when upgrading your computer. While it might not be the "SSD-like" performance everybody in the tech world is talking about, it pulls up and opens files fast enough for me. If you actually have any real patience, but needs things in a jiffy after boot-up, 7200RPM does just the trick. The Screen: At first, I was a bit uneasy using it as the 1920 x 1080 full-HD screen has twice as many pixels as the 1378 x 768 that comes standard on virtually every laptop these days. After awhile though, you learn to enjoy and love the extra screen space you get. If you have trouble reading, just go into Control Panel and make text bigger. In your browsers, just increase the zoom and you should be all good. I have played back a couple movies (one Blu-Ray and other couple DVDs) and the Blu-Ray in Full-HD looked stunning. As well the DVDs looked alright but those are in standard definition with a little up-conversion I think.Computer Features: The biggest "issue" right now is the disk tray. The best way to open it I found is to simply hold it for about four seconds and let go. At least it prevents me accidentally pressing it. The Beats Audio system is simply an equalizer but if your an audiophile and love to have true sound pitch along with being able to manage every aesthetic of your sound, I guess you would not be disappointed. In terms of keyboard, it is well placed and easy to adjust to. The touchpad is great in that it is rubberized and won't wear out. Although, using a mouse is always going to be better. Overall I love the design except for the fact the USB 3.0 and headphone slots are on the left side. I would prefer if one USB 3.0 is on the right and the headphone jacks were in front.

Overall, for those looking for the best performance for cheap, truly love AMD, or want a laptop that won't double as a furnace/heater too, this is the laptop for you.

This is not what they say

There are other brands on the market that claim to have better features or options but they invariably are priced much higher!A key item, battery operation, exceeded the less-than-6 hours published rating. In testing I have run it for 6 to 61/2 hours consistently using the standard battery.During a recent storm/power outage, I used the Pavillion on battery to watch a 2 1/2 hour DVD by candlelight while all my other electrical equipment was dark! Excellent sound and HD video.

The only drawback that I have experienced so far is the lack of detailed documentation or operating parameters for all the features, such as the keyboard "buttons", etc. Other than that it is clearly a bargain.

Good Value for the Money

The only drawback I can see right now is that HP doesn't have software to choose which graphics card to be primary as yet.

Yet I still highly recomend it! 5-Stars!!!
